Trip report 5

Today’s report will be a little short as we let villa gravity take over for a day after the boat ride yesterday. Today’s report won’t have any picture the shutter made to much noise for the headache I had.
I’m up quite early having a bus driver for a little hair of the dog from yesterday. Make omelets with the left over steak and roasted vegetables. We all decide to just hang out and take it easy float in the pool read some and just catch up on old friendships. Do a couple of small things for the owners to take my mind off of what we are going to do tomorrow.
Decide to head into town to do a little shopping take Paul to ST John spice let him pick out some hot sauces I get my grill rub and some fresh nutmeg and grater to try and make painkillers like the Soggy Dollar. We hit the little smoothie stand in the middle of Warf side village Paul has a raspberry lemonade and I a mango they are the best smoothies that either one of us have ever had so from this point on we have at least one a day some days more. Pick up a new snorkel for Paul and try to decide what to do on Friday what I was calling Father son day or he was calling wingman day book some stuff but I’ll tell you about it on the Friday report. We went to the US Customs office to get customs forms so we could have them filled out before we get to the airport well nobody is in the office we stand there for about five min and then see the forms on a table right next to the door as I’m picking them up an officer comes in and starts yelling at me about taking there forms I was going to get enough for are whole group but he would only let me have 1 I guess they come out of his paycheck.

Head back to the villa catch a quick nap want to be back to town for the blues cruise that will be playing in town.

We get back to town everybody heads to a different place to check out the music they had 3 different places that people were playing I head to the Beach Bar to hear Tommy Gillmor thought I’m might run into some other forumers but it is so packed have a hard time getting a drink. The whole town busier then I have ever seen it Paul heads up to St John Spice he really likes that store some guy off the cruise is giving the girl casher a hard time about wanting to find a place that he can get some thing to eat for less the 6 bucks she nicely explains to him where he is and he will have a hard time finding anything for that price. This guy goes off on her about having free food on the ship and he shouldn’t have to pay here. Well Paul can’t take it anymore he tells the guy to go back to the ship then Paul worked for 4 years as a cook at a sports bar and had enough of jerks.

Anyway I head over to Mooies sit across the road and listen to the band playing there when who do I see trying to get her car out but Ruth people walking and the other cars won’t let her out. So I go over and play traffic cop kind of fun stopping everybody for a friend and a little ego builder giving me all that power Almost made me feel like a customs officer.
We have to be back by 6 having friends coming over for supper tonight On the menu for tonight are huge pork chops squash salad and finally the key lime pie that I had promised everybody. I was a great meal good wine sitting out under the stars.

I lied I have one picture from that day.

It might take me awhile to write the next report because this will be the hard one and I want do it right.

Tom,
Great report considering the hangover and all. Also can you stop picking on those customs officers, they are really under alot of pressure to save those little white forms!

Sounds like pure bliss to me right now! It was 9 this morning. I can't take the winter anymore!

I'm sure report 6 will be (hopefully) somewhat therapeutic for you. What a special moment to share with so many of your friends and family there in STJ, as well as sharing with us on the forum. We are honored to be a part of it!

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the great reports. I am really enjoying your trip.

I agree with your assessment of the smoothie stand there at Wharfside. My husband is a Mango Smoothie junkie.

The absolute BEST smoothie on island can be found at the Ficus Bar located in front on the Lime Inn. If Sara makes it, it will the greatest thing you've ever tasted. If not Sara, it will still be pretty darn good. I myself love the grilled lobster the Lime Inn serves.

Looking forward to the rest of your report. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you accomplish the task that took you to St John. What a beautiful tribute to your wife.

God Bless,

Pat

Although I am sure that your next report installment will be difficult to write, I am honored that you will share your tribute to your wife with us.

Tom,

I think it speaks to how wonderful a woman your wife was that all of you made this trip to celebrate her life. My heart goes out to you and your family.
