Actually, the picture of the dust storm you see above was taken yesterday, so it hasn't made it to the Virgin Islands yet. Should be there late this weekend or early next week.

Wow! That's crazy! Pia and Ruth, get your "dust storm attire" out of storage!!!

Sure hope benchill has his goggles ready in case he's on-island.

The thing that we noticed with the Sahara Dust recently when we were there besides the obvious lower visibility was that it makes the air more dense, hot and humid. It was really terribly hot in town on those days and very very sticky.

There is a theory being investigated that links this dust to coral death, I had posted on the off topic forum...fyi.

jmq-I first received it in a Twitter message from NASA. Then I went to the nasa.gov website, copied the picture, uploaded to photobucket and then posted here.

So, should we rent our camels on STT or STJ?

...always interested in learning new stuff, I found this site after seeing the NASA image. It doesn't look so good for next week...sorry.
