This is our 3 rd trip to STJ. We need a 1 bedroom, must have a great view, grill, and AC in the bedroom.
Around $1000 for the week...yes it is an economy trip. But I know dear board members you can steer me to the perfect spot.

I have on the list: Cruz Views, Serendip and Sailview.

Any suggestions and input is appreciated.

We just stayed at Caribsurf. Not bad if you don't need a lot of space. It is on Frank Bay and takes about 5 minutes to walk to Cruz Bay. The sunsets are gorgeous. It is small, but in the price range you are looking at. It is a room, bathroom, and small kitchen. I don't remember there being a grill, but I did not look for one. It has a small patio with table and chairs outside great for breakfast and another patio at the edge of the property, perfect for watching the sun set. They also have a small cooler and beach chairs that you can use. If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout.

Casa Blanca maybe? We stayed there in March and reviewed on the review section of this site. I'm reading that Gallow's has some good prices but don't know if they've posted any specials for November yet. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about CB and good luck in your planning!

We have booked Wintermoon in Coral Bay for our trip in April. It looks great.

And it's just $1050, which is in within your budget.

Should you not need a full kitchen, I think Sailview is a great place.

We are doing our "budget" trip to St. John next month. We stayed at Sailview for 10 days in October and we are returning. We hardly ever do any actual cooking on St. John so the kitchen isn't an issue. Sailview has a great deck with grill, a decent fridge in the room and is more affordable than your top price so you can spend that money elsewhere. The furnishings are great and you don't even know the hosts are around unless you want to!!

Can't wait for our trip!

I decided on cruz views...thanks for the suggestions.

they are running a "last minute" special for select units...some go until November.

With cheap airfare from Detroit and this deal, I am coming in way under budget!

So perhaps a day trip to a BVI destination is in order...
