Hell is in KS

I have now found where hell is. It's here. Today its 96 degrees and 96% humidity. My glasses fog when I go outside. I called my hubby at work to complain and he said, sounds like STJ. Yes, but no ocean, mts, breeze, or that wonderful STJ smell. He responded, lets fix that then and go to STJ. I said great, lets go, do you think we can make it back to Ohio at a moments notice for the birth of our grandaughter. We decided we could fly STJ to Pit as fast as we could drive from KC. Sounds good to me. But alas, just wishful thinking.. . .

Deejay...I can't tell you how many times my husband has said "Just Book It" and I haven't.

I say take him up on it and do it!!

He sure would be shocked. But it would be great wouldn't. Just flipped on the tv to see that there are tornadoes in the area. Bet there's no tornado's in STJ.

DeeJayJay--I feel your pain. I went to a wedding in Dodge City, Kansas on June 6 and the temperature reading at the local bank was 103 degrees (the official temp, however, was a paltry 98). But its like paradise here in Des Moines---only in the high 80s and stormy :)

We're in the greater KC metro. Your hubby and us graduated from the same hs, and we have some friends in common in the dance community.

Ditto that Deejay. I have regretted the occasional spontaneous decision but never the ones that locked up a trip to STJ.

Pia, you're forgiven for the memory lapse. I have way more than my share. Spontaniety is difficult when hubby is still working full time. We have 4 horses, 3 cats and a dog. We can still dream though. He was planning to retire this year, but lets just say. . . he'll be working for a few more years now. Daughter expects us to be in Ohio for the birth of her baby which is due in 2 weeks, and Son and his wife are adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia. They have their assignment of a baby and are waiting for their court date in Ethiopia. When they pass court,(whenever that will be) They will be going to ethiopia to get her. They have asked hubby to go with them. Travel shots are done, and all is in order for that trip. We have a lot of pending trips hanging right now, so STJ is probably out til all babies have safely arrived.

There isn't much in my mind that would trump STJ but newly arriving grandbabies just might do the trick. Congratulations!
