Thanks for starting this thread, CG! Great pics, everyone!

Ken... Your underwater pictures have the brightest colors that I've seen. Did you do any post-processing on them or do you think it was just the camera and flash? I've done a lot of research on taking underwater pics with my Canon Powershot S50 and the matching underwater housing but I haven't seen anyone's pictures that have that kind of color.

Ron,

Some of the pictures had significant post processing in photoshop - others had very little. It all depends upon how far away the subject was and how bright the sun was, and how deep we were.

As you probably know, the red wavelengths don't travel as strongly through water as the blues - and so most photos end up with a blue cast. You can help yourself by shooting in bright light, near the surface, and with a flash. But you can also bump up the reds and yellows in photoshop to give a more realistic color to the photo.

Hope this helps. Have fun.

Photos of trip with my sisters in Aug 06. Just noticed that in 90% of the pics, we are holding some kind of beverage!!! Used a 2megpix camera so some arent' that fantastic. Just upgraded to a Canon A630 so can't wait till the next batch!

tarheel girl....that looked like you had soo much fun!! Is it just the 3 of you sisters?

I have 4 sisters & I got Dad to pay for us to get away every year now for the past 5 yrs. Only he would NEVER agree to send us to St. John!!
We go to a hotel for the one night & dinner & a sweatshirt & all the drinks we can drink B4 we all fall asleep!! I think only one time now that all 5 of us actually got together....one always cops out! This last year we missed our **sister weekend getaway**, so Dad is bringing 3 of us & our daughters that are graduating from HS to Hawaii!!
 That'll make up for missing a year!!
