Flights - November

I still haven't purchased my tickets for my November trip. Right now I'm looking at ticket prices in the high $300s and $400s. I've done this flight before and gotten a much better deal. All you experienced flyers out there, is it worth waiting a little more time to try and get a better deal? Thanks for any advice. (I'm flying out of DC).

November out of DC can be funny. We've done that time frame out of IAD 8 or 10 times. Right now, with oil prices climbing again, I'm inclined to buy any decent itinerary below $400.

Cheers, RickG

Rick I was going to recommend the same as we're watching fares for our upcoming trip all over the place...except for down!

Not happy about oil going up...seems like a lot of speculators out there, if this continues it'll be another hard summer for DH's trucks.

We purchased tickets for our November trip in March. Paid $334 which I thought was a decent price. I would jump on anything under $400, same as Rick. I also recommend trip insurance for November since it is the tail end of hurricane season.

Thanks.......I should have bought them earlier. Now I'm getting antsy; looked again this am and the best deal I could find was US Air through Charlotte for $395. All I have to do is purchase mine, and the price will go down for you :D

I just purchased my tickets last night for STT for February out of IAD (Dulles)on AA we got them for $383.00 a piece. I've done much better than that before but I was afraid to wait any longer myself with the price of fuel going up every day. I find that the choices of flights are really terrible here lately. Last February I flew United (direct) to STT for a little over $300.00 but I think those days are gone for a while. Good luck!

I'm looking for November out of DC too. Right now I see $288/RT + fees from DCA on AA but the flight times at that rate aren't what I'd like so I'm procrastinating... Ya' never know with these things...

I'm always happy if I can find flights under $650.00 to get back to KC - I'm jealous of flights in the $300's :(

So true, Pia. Cypressgirl and other friends in Texas tell me what they have to pay and I feel bad complaining.

Like she said...being from Houston...I thought I got a great deal when I bought our upcoming June tickets back in December at a little under $500 pp r/t. The day before I bought and the day after it was around $700 pp r/t. Yep, we Texans do envy those cheap East coast fares.

I've been watching November flights for about a month now and for Buffalo they're holding steady around $450 including taxes. Last year when I bought them for this past March they were $700! But, I'm holding off still-when I check seat availability they're completely open on all the flights-it's really bad looking. Normally at this point I'd think they'd be at least 50% full. Says alot about the economy :(

I found airfare last night from Detroit for $379 including taxes and fees for November and know I should jump on it. It's hard to take the plunge after only being home a little over two weeks.
