MONDAY MAY 18TH – ANYTHING BUT A MANIC MONDAY
What a weekend it was and it appears that our 2009 trip started out with a bang. It is Monday morning and the only thing missing is the sounds of an alarm clock, the hair dryer, and the toaster popping up the toast. You know the normal sounds you usually hear on a Monday morning as you get ready to step out the door and enter the rat race world we live in. The only rat race I experienced on manic Monday was the slow crawl to the ferry dock by St. Johnians to catch the first ferry over to St. Thomas. At this point I am really in no problems mode and taking in the sights and sounds of an early morning Cruz Bay while sipping my coffee. I have to admit I was a little bit banged up from the wild weekend we experienced and was in no rush to be packing up and hitting the beach. Nicolle woke up and was feeling a cold coming on. You can hear it in her voice and the constant sneezing just topped it off. Oh great, a cold on St. John. Is there such a thing? I made her some toast and gave her some OJ and she lay down again to try and recover a bit. What’s the rush? I got nowhere to go and nowhere to be.
Monday turned into a poolside day, not even worried about packing up the jeep and heading out. We just recovered from a hard hitting weekend and it was good to be right there near our condo. We actually discussed making it a detox day. Noticed how I only said “discussed” in that sentence….he he he. Sitting by the pool I broke out my little ipod speaker set and put out my playlist called “St. John Chill”. We both fell asleep in our chairs and worked on our tans. Rolled off the chairs every now and then and jumped in the pool. It is official, we are in chill mode.
We decided it was going to be an easy dinner night so we strolled down to the pizza place and ordered a pizza to go. To think it was going to be detox day…ha ha ha. Not while you are waiting for a pizza and the Rum Hut is right in front of you. Had a couple of beers and then took pizza back to Lavender and enjoyed the deck. Doing some people watching from our front deck we noticed ¾ of the TITS Tour walking up the hill. Hilary, Joe, Scott and some dude that looked like Andy from According to Jim. We gave out the holla and they be gone. A few minutes later my wife starts letting out a little woo woo. I notice what she sees so I join in on the fun. “Oh Ruthie…ruthie chick…woo woo”. Ruth looks around and finally notices us. Gave the hi’s and bye’s and she is on her way.
We actually made a new friend with a hurt leg. He was cool and hung out with us all week.

So much for detox day. Nicolle is feeling good so we take a late stroll down to Woody’s around 7:30. It is the eve of her birthday and she decided this is where I want to be when midnight and her official birthday hits. Not a problem at all as the Patron shots started flying left and right. There was a nice group of Pittsburg people there doing body shots on the bar. Not to be rude, but some dudes really need to keep their shirts on. How can you do body shots with all that hair….dude! The girls doing the shots off him….dudettes! MORE PATRON PLEASE. The night rolled by and we did the famous message on a plate for the Woody’s camera which should be posted on their website soon. Mine was just a message to Joe that said PUNISHER and god knows what Nicolle wrote. I never looked at it. Oh boy. Next thing I know Nicolle is behind the bar and working it with the Woody’s girls. Joclyne put a candle and a cherry in a shot and they sang happy birthday to her. LOL. In the picture Nicolle looks like Miss Patron and wearing the I’m gonna F you up face. Yep, she was pretty much done at that point. We finally walked out of there around 1 AM.

Up the hill we go and it is sleep time!
Good night John Boy!
