Hello all! We're in the midst of planning our St. John wedding for April 2010 and wanted to see if you all have any suggestions!

We're looking at renting Villa Paulette and having our reception there. Any reviews out there? There's only 1 recent post in the Villa Review section.

Also, anyone ever used Passion Fruit Chefs for any catering? If so, what's your take on them?

Thanks!!

On our last trip, Passion Fruit Chefs catered a meal at our villa. There were four of us. The chef (Laura) was very nice and the food was wonderful.

I recommend Mathayom 1000% - fabulous - he catered our wedding and anniversary dinner and is a wonderful chef.

I included a few links.

As far as the villa, I have driven by it a few times and it looks very nice from the outside, but there really is very little view if that is important to you - also, it is what I would call "in a valley" and in a very tropical setting, so if we have alot of rain like we did a few weeks ago (and I mean alot of rain after a dry spell) mosquitos will be a problem as the location (I believe) would not get a great breeze, but having said that, the photos of the inside and the setting of the grounds and home itself look like they would be perfect for a wedding.

Congratulations.

Pia

Thanks for the quick replies! Any other villa recommendations that would allow a wedding reception? We're looking for 5-6 bedrooms, pool (since there will be kids with us), a view would be nice.

Welcome to the forum......

Unless money is no object, make your date after April 17 so that you can get low season rates. Should save you thousands.

Someone else just inquired about this villa. It sleeps 10 and really looks beautiful. Low season begins April 10th and the savings are quite substantial. The gardens would be a terrific backdrop for photos also.

Wish I had enough friends to rent it...$6000/wk. for 10 people in the off-season is a great price, too!

Thanks for the advice! Our date is April 21 so that we can definitely take advantage of the low season rates!

We just stayed in Vistaero, and it was very nice. Great, wide open view, dramatic location high on the hill overlooking Rendezvous bay, large outdoor and indoor spaces, large pool with deck and pavilion next to the pool. I would guess that the deck/balcony spaces along the front of the house are about 15-18' deep, by the entire length (maybe 70-100 ft), and there is lots of space around the pool deck too.

Someone else on the forum just had a wedding there -- ceremony on the beach, reception at Vistaero so they could give you info on how well it worked for a party.
