I was going to PM my pal California Gal about this because she seems to be an expert

- What exactly is a Jello Shot (and believe me I thought I had tried just about every drink on the planet)? Being a child of the 60's I've put some interesting stuff in kool-aid but never in Jello!! And can you order this in a bar or are they only "do it yourself"? And never say I don't ask intelligent questions on the forum!

OK...to make a Jello Shot. A small box of Jello calls for 2 cups of liquid. So you dissolve the Jello in one cup of boiling water and for the 2nd cup you add liquor. Rum, vodka, Tequila...whatever. There are so yummy!!
For a large box..the same thing applies. Substitute half of the water with liquor!
I like to match the liquor to the Jello. So I'll take a box of lemon and a box of lime and use lemon vodka or Tequila. Almost tastes like a Margarita! Experiment!

We will be anxiously awaiting the report on your success! The blue ones Bev made are particularly good, but I'm not sure what flavor it was.

It's because they match the color of the water down there!
It was Berry Blue Jello with raspberry vodka or maybe it was a berry rum. I don't remember. You can even use plain alcohol (vodka or rum) but I think they taste better with matching liquors. Cranberry Jello and Raspberry vodka is really good. Orange Jello with Mandarin Orange vodka. Go crazy!!

And then there are also pudding shots! Chocolate pudding made with Bailey's or Kaluha! Oh YUM!

Sounds yummy! I have been on this forum for the past couple of months searching for a villa for our family of four. Anyway, have already read the feet, fin and four wheel drive - I think that is the name. I have noticed that there are only bathrooms at certain beaches. Yes, I know this may be a weird question but what does everyone do? Our son will be 12 and daughter 9 not sure if they want to dig a hole in the sand.

I still insist those empty containers in the bag are from bev being anxious to get a few down before she got on the boat....

For the sake of others I wouldn’t advise digging a hole in the sand
For #1 there’s the ocean or you can sneak back into the woods.
For #2 I’d head back to the villa.

I really was just kidding about digging a hole. I was just curious as to what others do. Thanks!

Hello - another idea for jello shots, particularly if you don't want them quite so "strong", you can use various flavors of Schnapps - for example, grape jello and grape schnapps - very yummy, or you can also use wine coolers in various flavors for the liquid. One time my husband decided he would make the jello shots for a New Year's Eve party we were having - and as a typical male, didn't want to ask "how" or listen to me. So - he buys KNOX gelatin and uses peppermint schnapps - no other liquid. They were so strong and so hard you could use them as bouncy balls! Good thing I made my own jello shots! His didn't taste very good either, although your breath was fresh!

I use the recipe for jello jigglers (we called it "finger jello" when I was a kid) and then use molds and/or cookie cutters to make some pretty cool ones.
For example, I've been known to use orange jello and mango rum and make orange "Power T's" for football season. They're much easier to eat and transport than the cups and they still pack a punch. I'll never forget my friend who was eating what she thought was innocent red finger jello at a party only to not be able to stand up later. Guess we should've mentioned the vodka!
My favorite combos are lime jello with coconut rum or tequila and lemon jello with raspberry rum, but the possibilities are endless! Just try what sounds good and after a few shots, I'm sure it'll be delicious!
