Is it just a coincidence??

Why is it that whenever I have a trip planned to STJ or somewhere by or in the ocean that Jaws seems to be on TV when I flip through the channels and also shows about sharks and shark attacks? Not only that, but there is usually a plane crash or incident!

(Not that I am worried about those things, just an observation...)

i can relate.

the hudson river plane crash happened on the day we flew home.

the fate of the plane and all the passengers had not yet been determined while we were eating breakfast and packing. we weren't near a tv or radio and everyone around us was talking about "those poor people", "what a terrible crash", etc, etc.

i'm afraid to fly by the way.

Solution...turn off the TV! Put on some island music and count the days until you leave. There's always going to be something horrible happening somewhere.

Here's how I rationalize that stuff: it rarely happens back to back -- so I figure that one (insert whatever it was here) is out of the way and I'm all good.

Yep, me too.

But yes, things always seem to happen when we are getting ready to go on vacation. When I heard about the Hudson thing, I told Husband he was NOT allowed to watch the news that night at home.

That aweful Tsunami occured our last beach day on STJ. We heard about it the next day at the airport. I'm so glad I didn't know about it while we were still there. I would have been up in the mountains somewhere.

Same here!!! Oh, and I'm not the best flier either. Put me and Drama Girl together on a hairy flight and it's not very pretty! Poor boys!

I only worry when I fly when I am alone. Thoughts like MY CHILDREN WILL NEVER SURVIVE if daddy is in charge full time. Strangely when we are all on board a flight together I am pretty calm. Either I am ok with us all going down together or I am too busy trying to keep them entertained and quiet to worry.

That is just it! I DON'T watch a lot of TV, but when I do because I am too tired to read or do anything else, I seem to always find these things.

Then I think it's just a coincidence!
