Help with Spirit Air Random Seat Assignment

Has anyone flown on Spirit Air and taken a chance with the random seat assignment? We are leaving in a few days and I'm getting nervous about not having an assignment. There are six of us and I don't know how they do it-just look for the next six seats open or look by rows for three seats? Just hoping an experienced flyer would be able to help!

I'm interested in responses because next month we're flying Spirit for the first time and I wondered about that too.

Get to the airport early and you have a much better chance of getting seats together
If not right by each other than a couple of rows apart
We fly spirit all the time and have always gotten to sit by each other
I dont think you will have a problem

I've flown spirit with these random seat assignments in effect, and if you get to the counter/kiosk early, and just ask them, they will put you together if there's space. I had kids with me and they were always able to be seated with me. If they couldn't accomodate us, then it would have been interesting.

Ditto to what Gymnastika says. Never had a problem. Get a Spirit MasterCard and you get preferred boarding as well. Nice perk.

Did any of you print your boarding pass ahead of time? I was planning on printing our boarding passes 24 hours ahead of time, but if an in person request would give us a better chance at being together, I'll just make sure we get to the airport early and do it that way.

No need to print the boarding passes as they will have to reprint when they rearrange your seating assignments.

I dont think they will let you print your boarding passes with out confirmed seats
