Well, kind of new, we got him about a month ago. As some of you know, we lost 2 cats in less than a year. Our remaining guy was pretty lonely. We rescued this guy from an animal shelter and he has turned out to be a wonderful cat. He is about 2-3 years old and was rescued from a euthanasia shelter and was near starving at the time. He had been at this shelter for a few months.

So, heeeeeeeeres Johnny!!!!

Guess where we got that name from??? His middle name is Maho

. We always give our cats middle names

. The two boys are getting along great. It took Johnny a week to come out of the basement but he is totally fine now. Gary says he just got out of jail, so he needed some time.

Brenda, congratulations. We have 2 cats like that. Both from the spca.

We give our babies middle names too.

One is Tiki Khana and the other is Captain Jack Sparrow.

May he bring you many years of fun and love.

He is beautiful - glad he is working out. He looks so relaxed. We are getting ready to bring a new addition to the family since we lost our cat a few years ago (she lived 19 spoiled years). Sounds silly, but I am a bit nervous about finding one because we want to find a 2-3 y/o cat that doesn't have "bathroom issues" and doesn't have a kitty disease (we've had these types of problems in the past when we got a 4 month old kitten from a shelter). However, I am really looking forward to having a cat again.

B&J....there are so many wonderful cats at the shelter. I work with usually 85 cats and there are so many there that need homes.

Talk to a volunteer at the shelter and they should be able to lead you in the right direction.

All of the cats that we looked at from the shelters were tested for major feline diseases. Ours was neutered as well. Another thing is the staff seemed pretty knowledgeable as to their personalities ie whether they are good with kids or other animals. This guy needed a little patience at first until he adjusted to his surroundings. It was too funny after a while trying to get him upstairs. We would cheerily call him and call him. Gary started "singing" the "Put one foot in front of the other" song as we would look at him from the basement

. We laughed that there was some magnetic force that he couldn't pass. Now, you would never know that he is new here. He is a spunky boy that I think will bring my older cat some new energy.
