How I get by.......

Leaving tomorrow for 5 days of sun(I hope) and fun(I know) on the Outer Banks. Started planning this trip within a week of getting back from St. John - it was the only way to keep my sanity. Will start planning next trip to OBX when I get back - for a week in Sept/Oct. and after that trip I will start planning my next trip to STJ - hopefully summer 2010. This is the only way I can get by is to constantly be planning a get away - no matter how small - until I step foot on the Rock again:) It gives me something to look forward to thru out the year.

I'm with you. But, this year has made my usual approach very difficult with the economic uncertainty, family obligated travel and major projects. 2009 is the year of last minute travel for us! We'll make it back this Fall, hopefully for the SOTB III "Coral Bay Tarts" tour.
Cheers, RickG

Same here. I either immediately start planning right when we get back, or I've already got something going or booked before we even leave.
I can't stand not to have a trip coming up. We leave in a month and I already started the planning for the next one. Just have to...

It's not easy waiting for June 28th to get back to STX. It's still cold in NH!!! After a quick 3 days in Jacksonville for hubby's Swift Boat Reunion, we'll spend 19 days in STX celebrate our 14th anniversary @ our new condo. Yahoo!!!

I'm supposed to go to Miami and the Keys in two weeks, and I haven't really given it much thought at all. I hate the way the economy is right now. My hours have gotten really cut back at work, and I'm not sure if we should be going on vacation.
Needless to say, my trip to St. John next year hasn't really been given much thought at all, but I feel good because I have it on the calendar and I can at least pretend that I'll have the money to go.
Now that I read all this, I really do need a beach. I guess I need to just scrimp and save. As I always say, "Top Ramen tastes better with a view!"

I always need to have one in the planning stage as well. I usually wait until a couple days after we return but I already decided where we want to stay next year and when we are going. Helps keep me focused on why I work so hard--so I can get away from work.

Totally agree!!!

Though my husband doesn't get it... I have to have one or two vacations in the planning stages. I'm exceedingly lucky that my boss rewards me with vacation time and doesn't count long weekends as cutting into vacation days. So far I'm working on 2 girls get away weekends with different groups and another St. John trip in November. After 20+ years of marriage I've convinced my beloved that there's little sense waiting for retirement to enjoy the rewards of our hard work.

"Coral Bay Tarts" tour.....I like that Rick. You'll have to come by for a drink(s) and check out our digs.
We can have a full "moon" party.

I checked the lunar schedule and there really is a full moon that week. It's suppose to be a really beatiful sight.
