I'm not a Star Trek fan by any stretch, but really want to see it.
My wife does NOT want me to see it. She hates all things JJ Abrams. She hates Lost and detested Cloverfield. OF course, both make me so excited you can see it through my shirt.
So...I want to see it just because of who directed it.
Appropos of nothing, did we all see that JJ and David Lindelhof have optioned the Dark Tower series.
I need chain mail to contain myself.

you're a better person than I. we went yesterday - Charlie saw Star Trek and I was right next door seeing The Soloist. It's like going to the movies together, right?

Absolulety! Compromise is what marriage is all about. I think you could have gotten through Star Trek though, it was sufficnelty enterianing. Although the coming attractions attached to the movie were interminable, all the big loud repatitive mindless summer movies.
BTW... happy Mom's day to a fellow WSM ...wicked step mom

Not me. I'm only a child, not a mother of any sort.

I think I'm going to wait until next weekend to see the movie and avoid the crowds. As a big time trekkie of course I've been looking forward to it... but with guarded anticipation. It took me almost 2 years to accept the Next Generation cast. I'm such a purist! LOL!
The movie has been getting great reviews though! That makes me happy!

Sorry, I thought Charlie had a daughter... must have you guys confused with someone else. No matter one of my friends gets a gift from her Mom every mother's day because " if it weren't for you I wouldn't be a mother."

I like that philosophy! I wonder if my mom will have a present for me today!
No daughters here but I have a niece who is 16 and will be coming with us to STJ. Maybe that's what you are thinking .. or not .. no matter
