Hi all,

Well, I have been back a week, so I am now looking at next year's trip. (It's the only way to deal with the depression of re-entry).

I am actually considering a smaller group this year (gasp!) so I am looking at Villa Belvedere. I know a few of you have stayed there. Thoughts? Photos?

It is on our list every year but for some reason we never pull the trigger on it. Let me know what you find out

I stayed there in 2005, so my thoughts are a little outdated, but maybe they'll help.

Pros: Central air, easy neighborhood to get to, large covered deck with ceiling fans, other houses are close by but can't see in to the property, mature and beautiful landscaping, AWESOME sunset views, nice pool with those good views.

Cons: The pool is down a flight of stairs from the main pod. Someone on this forum fell down those stairs and cracked their head open! I can't remember who it was, but they needed stitches. Needless to say, hold on to the handrail! I will say that I am the world's hugest klutz, and I did not fall down the stairs. I walked into one of the sliding glass doors, but that's another story.

The setup is a main living pod with living room, dining room, sunroom, bath, kitchen, and bedroom with bath. The bedroom in this pod has no views. The two bedrooms with (outstanding) views are attached to the main pod via covered outdoor walkway. So, you have to be constantly locking and unlocking doors. It's not a huge deal, but it got a little irritating.

I don't have many pictures of Belvedere on flickr, but here are a few to give you an idea:

Swimming pool(in this picture I am being a good forumite and writing my trip report!)

You are too funny Becky! In a way, I have a hard time imagining you as the worlds biggest clutz.

Great shots. The view looks fantastic. Maybe I shall look into that villa too. But it might be too big (or pricy) for the two of us.
