I am interested in staying at Gallows..I can't help but notice a price savings if I book through Gallows Resort..Gallows starts at $335 Suite St John at $395.
That's a $400 difference. I realize with Suite St John you can book a specific unit..I am not so much concerned with view as condition of the unit itself..anyone have any experience booking thru Gallows and how do they compare to SST?

We booked through Gallows in 2005 and got a good deal because it was our 20th wedding anniversary. We were in 2C and it was great. We did book about 8 months ahead of time, however.

I've stayed in both Gallows and Suite St. John and I don't think there is any real difference. Neither are very updated. The furniture has been there a while and the decor is a little shabby. But the resort as a whole is lovely. The views are wonderful. The snorkeling right off the shore is great. It is very convienient to town. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Please forgive me if I'm being dumb or missing something here, but $335 - $395 is only a $60 difference. Where did you come up with $400?? :?

Probably when you figure in the length of stay.

The only difference in pricing is in the Harbour View. Suite St. John is a little higher for their upper units and do not have any lower Harbour View units available.

That said, we have used Suite St. John in the past and loved the unit... this next time we are going through Gallows directly for they have the unit that we wanted - although I know they are not as guaranteed as Suite St. John's units. One other little convenience: Both require a 3 day deposit up front - but Gallows will charge you the balance on your credit card on the day you DEPART from Gallows - where Suite St. John charges you the balance 30 or 60 days prior to you arriving - and it must be by check (at least that was their policy 2 years ago).

It is not a big deal - but I like being able to earn points on my credit card and I also like not having to pay for my stay before I have even arrived.

Whichever route you choose, Gallows is a magnificent place to stay - with most of the wonderful aspects of a villa - but with many more conveniences - and right on the water - which is not the case for many villas.

ENJOY!!
