Have the chance to be treated to dinner- no worry about expense. Where would you go? Why?

From your question I assume that you mean someplace nice. A lot of folks would probably recommend ZoZo's.

Asolare is great for views and food but their service can be a bit spotty.

We love Shipwreck Landing in Coral Bay...Always good food and service if you're staying on this side of the Island. We're going there tomorrow with Margo, Rick and Kellee. We also just ate at La Plancha del Mar in Cruz Bay. I reviewed and posted photos on the Off Topic Forum. Really good! But for atmosphere and beautiful sunset views....ZoZo's.

We are partial to La Tapa and while not a classic "high end" dining spot, it can get pretty pricey, so I would go there.

We had a very nice meal at Waterfront Bistro in February, so if you haven't tried there, I would definitely give it a whirl.

I'd probably do the buffet at Caneel too. I've always wanted to do it, but the timing hasn't worked or I've just couldn't get past the price of it. If it were free, I'd be there.

ok...we REALLY like the idea of having a beautiful meal prepared at your rental home! This would be our first choice. However, we have to differ and feel less enthralled with the ideas of Zozo's and Asolare...yes they've captured great spots for views on the island but our experiences, since '85 have been that atmosphere doesn't justify mediocre service and food at those prices. Consider Coral Bay for Shipwreck or Aqua Bistro. Also, we've heard great things about Sweet Plantains. We've had absolutely wonderful meals at Moragn's Mango in Cruz. Banana Deck has great shrimp dishes!
Hoping that the place you choose lives up to your every expectation, we remain envious of your dilemma,
Bill and Sue
