Has anyone gone with Captain Phil on the Wayward Sailor with six people? Looks like it might be pretty cramped. Does he bring a crew member also, making it eight people total?

Yes & it was tight. Doable, but tight.

We went with six passengers, Captain Phil, and crew member Tarn. It was a little tight - but we weren't on the boat for very long, and it didn't bother us one bit. We huddled together for warmth because it rained!

We had 5 in August. You could have fit another adult and been OK. As it is, when you're underway, at least 2 can crawl forward to the bow and play "King of the world". I went out there on the way out of Cruz bay, and 2 people did on the way back. During lunch or the de-snorkeling shuffle, it could be tight.

But...it's a GREAT TRIP with Tarn and Phil!

We had six people, Captain Phil, and Tarn, and we did not feel cramped. We were not sitting on top of each other or anything. The boat is small, but we were comfortable.

I agree that it is comfortable even with 6 passengers. Unless you make special arrangements for a private sail with Captain Phil, there will most likely ALWAYS be 6 passengers at a time. If someone cancels, he calls other interested parties and gets other passengers lined up. He would rather go out with a full load. :D
