Decision on day sail

Greetings! I enjoy this site so much and have planned our STJ vacations using the great info here, plus lived vicariously through the wonderful trip reports. We will be on STJ in May and are looking to schedule a full day sailing trip. I was hoping to go on White Wing again, like we did several years ago with forumites JoAnn in VA and Maggy plus their spouses. However, Captain Clark said he is not sailing in May, since he is working on their house. We have sailed with Captain Phil and learned about how to spot an octopus from him (for which I will always be grateful), but his boat is too small for my tastes. Here are my "requirements" - yes, I recognize I am picky

- At least 40 foot sailboat (no motorboats)
- max of 6 passengers
- a shaded area for Miss Paleface (me) to sit
- goes to snorkeling spots that you can't reach from the beach (one of them goes to Honeymoon and Waterlemon, but we hike into those, so I want to go somewhere not accessible by land)
- safety oriented
- no dogs on board (yes, I know that is unheard of by the dog lovers here)

I am looking at Survivan, Calypso, Treazzure, or Cloud Nine Sailing. Any experiences with these?

Thanks :D

Look into Long Distance. It sails from Coral Bay. Rick and Robin are delightful. The boat is 40 feet and 6 person max. They take you to terrific snorkel spots, not accessible by land. It will depend on the wind etc. We went to Flanagan Island and Hurricane Hole. There is a canopy over the back of the boat if you are worried about rays. The only problem for you is they do have a dog, Kiwi. I am not overly fond of dogs but found Kiwi to be very unobtrusive and extremely friendly. Don't pass the boat up over the dog!

Survivan is great. We did a BVI daysail with Capt. Jason 2 years ago & we have another BVI sail booked with Survivan for our trip in May. Survivan has plenty of room, plenty of shaded seating & Capt. Jason makes a mean Painkiller. We had a wonderful day & was the one of the highlights of our vacation.
