The only thing that seems to help with the post-STJ blues is to plan the next trip. When we get home from STJ, the first thing we do is book a villa for the next trip. It helps.
Of course, this board also helps.

Let me grab a box of kleenex before I go on here...
What was getting me over the hump? Your trip reports and photos. Who can forget such favorites as Bongo Bongo fountain enema. What you need to do is get on a plane and get to STJ now.
One really cool thing that's helping me right now is the beach break videos on the on-stjohn.com web site. I'm guessing Gibeny's as the mystery beach today. I never did get to Gibney's, but isn't there a gate?

I don't think it's Gibney. The gate and walkway is different here and this beach is much wider.
It looks like a beach close to Francis or Maho with Peter Bay in the background. But after looking at my pics from October, I think I may be wrong.
Can't wait to see the answer tomorrow!
Any guesses from other St. John addicts?

Easiest way to deal with the breaks? I come to this forum every day!
Also, I use smell memories. We have lotions and soaps from Caneel Bay that smell like no place else. I keep them in a drawer and if it gets too gloomy we can take a sniff and be transported back there.
I also make photo albums/scrapbooks for each of our trips, and we look through them often.

I always try and bring a new lotion on vacation and use it the whole time. Then I keep some at home and the scent brings me right back.
We also take beach pictures or post cards and frame them for the bathroom walls.
Any little thing I can do to get back to vacation mode helps.

Hey Buddy, you can always come here for a visit before the next trip to STJ. I know it's not the same, but it's warm and we have sand. And beer of course!

Oh Jorge
OK – this is what’s going to help you get over the hump and get me through the next 106 days.
Coming soon to an island near you – the “Drunk Broke Friends Tour”.
Get your tickets now – no, you can’t buy them from TicketMaster, the local play house or the stadium. You have to get them from whatever airlines fly’s to STT and get the companion ferry ticket to STJ.
The tour will consist of “Ole Timers that have been to STJ a Cagillion times”, “Semi Ole Timers – folks that have been there between 1 & 5 times” and last but not least “The Virgins – their first time”.
Tour Line-Up:
• Invade the island in waves from all directions – the friends are coming from Florida, Virginia, California and other parts of the mainland.
• The tour will roam from villa-to-villa covering all of STJ. Strategic villas will be in Peter Bay, Chocolate Hole North and Coral Bay.
• Huge get-together at the Beach Bar or Skinny’s (all on-island are invited).
• A flotilla of boats to the BVI’s – this is going to make the Cuban Mariel Boatlift look like a casual outing.
• Island hoping in the BVI’s – any and all places are up for the tour.
• Scuba Diving with the “Scuba Virgins” – several on the tour are taking lessons – guess that I’ll be the “Old Salt” and take care of the “Virgins”.
• The Tour may do a “Deep Sea Fishing” trip – time permitting.
• Untold get-togethers as the tour crisscross the island.
• Hooking up with new and old friends – STJ Ruth and Pia, you’ve been warn.
• Relaxing on such places as Salt Pond, Gibney and many more that the tour will discover.
Well Jorge – if that doesn’t help, nothing will and you need to down a Painkiller as soon as possible.

I guess that I am not the only one...
I use all of the above, lotion that reminds me of my trip to STJ (coconut/lime), pictures all over the place, This forum and any other web site I can find, watch the web cams, look at my books and photo albums,
rum drinks

.
I also drive my family kind of crazy with all of this, but it's fun!
