I am posting this for the organizers - this is a fund raiser - Anthony.

Saturday, May 2 the hunt will begin and end at High Tide, Wharfside Village
Michael Beans (our local pirate with a purpose) will provide happy Arrrrrgh entertainment along with a conch-blowing contest; sand castle building for the kids, crab races and general merriment.

This event will benefit The Good Samaritan of Haiti Foundation in cooperation with 3 Sail Church with the goal of building a school and medical facility on the island of Ile a Vache, Haiti. www.goodsamaritanofhaiti.com

The cost of entering the hunt will be $50 in advance and $60 the day of the hunt. We are asking local businesses to help us fill the custom-made treasure chest with booty. Participating sponsors will be provided posters indicating they are a sponsor. We are encouraging all participating jewelers to display your donated items as "treasure booty". We know this will generate much interest and traffic in your stores. We already have over $1000 in cash, a gas grill approximately a $500 value, a weekend getaway and much more.

For more information go to www.goodsamaritanof haiti.com or www.3sail.com
On St. John call Laurie @ Today's Flowers 693-8015

Rules for the hunt will be posted on the 3 Sail website along with updates for this event.

Advance tickets will be available @ Today's Flowers in Cruz Bay and The Mail Center @ The Marketplace and Connections Coral Bay only.

Thank you for helping us make this the most fun you'll ever have helping somebody!

With all the forumites on island, surely this should do well! Sounds neat.

Besides, $50 for some booty sounds like a pretty good deal.

Color me confused, Bandit you've been around for awhile right? I seem to remember you teasing Vicki before...but it says you just joined in December and I know it was longer ago than that when you were here...you're from Tennessee, right? It's one of my favorite states, so I remember :)

I have been "around" for awhile. In fact I invented "the internet." Oops...my bad. Sorry that was Al Gore, whom, by the way, really isn't from Tennessee.

Thanks for your interest.

And just to clear up any misunderstandings or confusion, I am not anybody famous and I don't have any tickets.

Bandit was banished?? I always miss all the drama.

He is too from Tennessee. Can't let you blame that one on some innocent state. We were moseying through Carthage on our way to visit family in Nashville and they admitted it. We'll that was a few years ago. Not sure where they stand today.

This Treasure Hunt will be loaded with fun and good will. Bring a car, swim suit, a compass, cell phone, and note pad and pen. Make teams of pirates. Because knowledge of STJ is a must.

Thanks to Anthony for helping!

Man! I miss all the good stuff. :x Sounds like a lot of fun

And yes, Bandit has been around plenty long. Long enough to know a) that booty in Tennessee is more similar to booty in the islands than you might expect, and b) that Vicki is pretty much the only one that can bring him out of the woodwork anymore. :)

Sounds very, very interesting. We will be on island during that time.

What do you suppose they mean by, "be prepared for a long day?" I am going to want to relax, that's our first day after a long travel day. Sounds like too much pressure - kind of like a race - not condusive to island time.

It says "winner take all" - but also states that some treasure may be found near the clues. This sounds contradictary to me. ????????

Patr,
I Will try to answer your questions. By 'long day', we mean the treasure hunt begins at about 10AM at High Tide next to the ferry dock in Cruz Bay and will continue through the afternoon until the last Pirate or Pirate team has found the BOOTY! From 4-6 a concert with Michael Beans at High Tide. I don't even know the location of clues yet. One or two people are setting up the clues and locations throughout the island. There is of course no pressure if you so decide. BUT, if you want to win, I highly recommend brushing up on STJ info. This will help you solve the clues. Each clue will lead you to the next clue until the final one where the BOOTY is.

Winner takes all was written in this poster before we collected prizes that could be at select clue locations. This was a late decision. Hope that explains it. Happy Treas-arrrgh hunting!!

Thanks PJ! I tried to post a question to Kent on the 3sail site, but was unable. Do you know yet how many clues? Or can you antcipate how long the hunt will last?

The hunt begins at 10, I notice a concert starting at 4, does this indicate they expect the hunt to be over by then?

And finally after a team has won, will the other hunters be notified?
