We are avid snorkelers with a young child and are looking for a villa that is within a 5 to 10 minute walk to great snorkeling. Any suggestions?

Gibney Cottages. Not cheap but awesome location!

These two are pretty far out there, but are right next to Kiddle Bay and very close to Salt Pond. Some villas have restrictions for very young children, but I'm not sure about these:

Lille Paradis

La Sirrena

They are both available through windspree.com which is a locally managed Coral Bay rental agency.

Terrahawk, which is right up the drive and across the road from Gibney. No pool, AC in at least the BRs, 2brs, large deck. Rented thru Catered To.

This villa is very near Kittel Bay (pebble beach) and has a path directly to the bay. I suggest looking at the website and talking with Windspree if you are interested. For me, the age of my child would be a major concern with my villa choice and I am not sure that this villa will meet your needs there. The master bedroom is one floor below the main floor and is accessed by a metal spiral staircase. The pool is one more story down.

If I can answer any questions specific to Lille Paradis let me know.

 took a break in the middle of this...repeating JT...but I'll leave it anyway.

Orchid Villa and her sister villa Oleander are within walking distance to Klein Bay. The beach is cobblestone though so entry is tricky but the snorkeling is pretty good. Again, the accomodations with young kids may not be ideal as the one pod has a bedroom upstairs and one at pool level. There is a loft in the main part of the house.

Great snorkeling on St Croix North Shore

Not sure if you've considered St. Croix for snorkeling. We love the North Shore... it's laid back, quiet and has great snorkeling and scuba diving. There are 2 dive shops to rent equipment. You can see all the possible destinations here on this website... http://www.northshorestcroix.com and if you want more to do the North SHore has golf, kayaking, restaurants and more. Good luck. Hope you see a turtle on your trip!

Another thought if the Gibney, Terrahawk don't fit the bill - Serenity Villa on Francis Bay rented through Caribbean Villas and resorts management. Easy walk to a nice wide shallow sandy beach for the little one. Nice snorkeling out toward the point for the big ones. Good activities and kayak rentals at Maho Bay camps next door and another great beach for little ones Maho Beach just nearby. You could also walk (though not with a little one) or car 2min. to really good snorkeling at Waterlemon.

Beach Walk is right on the water in Chocolate Hole. If you do some searches, you can see that the snorkleing on this side Chocolate Hole is really good.

I recall Liams Aunt had some surprisingly good snorkeling in Frank Bay near Gallows Point which opens up a ton of options.

Cameron Cove on East End near Sloop Jones overlooking Pelican Rock, 2 min walk down to cobblestone beach and some great snorkeling.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!

We're booked for June but the owners of the villa are in residence much of the year so we needed more options - I can only hope to exhaust the list...
