We are on our fifth day without power here in St. Louis (Ballwin, MO) . My house is 40 degrees  It's in the teens outside  I'm at work VERY BUSY  dreaming of some 85 degree sunshine, sugary sand between my toes, the smell of aloe healing my burnt skin, a painkiller in my warm hand. URGHHHHH :x

I CAN'T TAKE IT IN THE MIDWEST FOR ONE MORE MINUTE! GET ME OUT OF HERE AND TO ST. JOHN!!! QUICKLY!

OK, so misery loves company - - anyone else feel the same!

I hear you....

We just got back a month ago, but we dove right into holiday hell and some family headaches/fights for the past few weeks....I can't even count the number of times we've looked at each other and wished that we were back swimming with turtles at Francis Bay. Turtles don't start fights....[/i]

It is supposed to be something like -10 degrees with the wind chill factor tonight. Yup, I would rather be on St. John too.

We have had unusually warm weather here lately (60's), but it has been really rainy. Last night it dropped 40 degrees and we have light snow coming down right now. I am about to bring in some firewood and build a couple of fires. Maybe that will make it less miserable. I would definitely rather be in paradise!!

It's in the 20's (windchill) here in Houston! We Texas transplants don't do 20 degree weather very well...so yeah, we are right there with you wishing we were on STJ!

I just keep watching the video of the beach break from on-stjohn.com over and over and over...only 129 more days!!!

I feel the same way! We have had relatively mild weather in WI this year, however right now it is 15 degrees!
I am going to STJ in June, but I can't wait. I am trying to scheme a Florida trip tp see my Mom this Spring. I may have to go alone, but I don't care!
I need to get to a warm beach! 8)

Here in Southern New Hampshire, we are covered in ice. It's on everything! The trees are all bowed down, they creak when the wind blows. It's very, very creepy and dangerous.

Tomorrow temps are supposed to be in the negatives with the wind.

My skin is dry, my lips are chapped, my eyes are itchy. I'm paranoid that one of the ice trees is going to split and land on the house or the car or ME!

I never feared ice trees on St John :)!

I want to put on my apple-green cotton sundress and watch the herd of sheep cross over Rt 10 while sitting in my rental Jeep at Love City Mini-Mart waiting for hubby to bring me an ice cold bottle of water.

Dammit.

This is how bad I've got it:
I watched the Gallows Point web cam on Saturday at sunset. I had a rum drink and just pretended like I was there. It was a beautiful sunset!

Oh dame – It’s 80 degrees here today under sunny skies. But tomorrow it’s suppose to get cold – temps are going to be in the 50’s.

I know that it doesn’t compare to “negative-cold-as-hell” – but that is why we live in Florida. It’s a vacation every day – with the exception of “Hurricane Season”.

But like the rest of you – we too would still like be on STJ. If it helps – send some of that cold weather down here. We need a good cold spell to kill all the bugs. The fleas are really bad right now.

No sympathy for FlaGeorge or KyGirl for me. It was -6 this morning (REAL temp---not wind chill)but its now warmed up to a balmy 3 degrees by midday. So a rum punch on the beach doesn't sound too bad!

Better you than me!

Seriously I don't know how I would cope with weather in the negatives!

So I feel better knowing others are in the same, sad, cold boat. Thanks all for sharing your respective sob stories. And of all things, I'm going skiing this weekend. Perhaps someone in St. John is saying right now, "Gee I sure do miss the seasons. Wouldn't it be grand if I could hit the slopes right now and feel the brisk, winter air on my face?"

 NOT!

I have two words for you. GLOBAL WARMING

Yesterday we got 8 inches of snow, then freezing rain. Today is -33, tomorrow and Wednesday -35, then Thurdays and Friday it's going up to plus 7 and is going to rain. Weird!

I WISH I WAS IN THE ISLANDS!!!!!!

OMG Scuba!

I thought we were bad here! We've been below zero since the middle of last week with no relief in sight yet! Of course when you're below zero, -20 or -35 feels about the same! Freaking cold! I dread the day my gas bill comes next month!!!

Lysa: Ice Trees! I have an apple green sun dress too! It's from my St. John collection. Clothes I only wear to St. John! I love it!

ScubaGirl - I think you win! And for what it's worth, here in Southern California, it was 28 degrees in our garage this morning and so many of my plants have died from the cold. My begonias are just mush, my banana trees are all brown and crispy. It's not as bad as the rest of the country, but it's definitely COLD for this neck of the woods!
