Ok everyone, its 27 days until wheels up for me. My iPod playlists are in DESPERATE need of an update. I am guilty of listening to the same tunes for ages without it bothering me. But since there will be others on this trip, I need to branch out...

For the first half of vacation, my iPod speakers will be by the pool entertaining me and my group of old friends. A 30-something crowd of singles with drinks in their hands... Second half of the trip is for my personal reflection and relaxation on the beautiful beaches of St John.

Your Challenge: what one (or two) songs would you not go to STJ without on your Playlist ?

The Condition: you cannot submit a KC or Buffett tune.

HELP ME!!! :?:

Not necessarily "islandy", but these two songs always put me in a happy place - both by Luis Armstrong:

1. Cabaret

2. What a Wonderful World - this was my Gram's favorite song...She loved the beaches of The Cape...But I listen to this on STJ and think how much she would've loved Maho Bay had she ever made it there.

Use iTunes Genius feature, it's a homerun.

For an easygoing daytime type playlist I gave it a James Taylor song and it built a 100 song playlist with similar songs.

For an evening up tempo I gave it a RHCP or U2 song.

For an earbuds in playlist I gave it a Zeppelin song for a real playlist :D

I've got a good one. It was kind of an obscure instrumental title track from by The Band's album called "Islands" It is a very cheerful tune that puts a spring in your step.
You can hear it here:

http://www.rhapsody.com/the-band/islands

Just click on the 6th song.
