Whats the chance

This trip coming in 28 days!!! I want to try some beaches we have missed on our other trips. Gibney, Jumbie and Salomon to name a few. I have read over and over again in the guided that Salomon is St John nude beach. Knowing that nudity is illegal what is the chances you will hike to this beach and find a bunch of naked people . The idea does not appeal to me but the beach looks gorgeous.

Never seen any the half dozen times we have been there. The worst I've seen is a guy in a speedo

It's not a big nude beach but if you were to try that would be the beach cause it is more remote. Go you will love it. The middle palm on the beach is mine so if you are there when I show up ya gotta move

I love my Speedo.
I love Salomon, as well.

Once at Solomon we were treated to the sight of a very large naked man lying under a palm tree reading the newspaper. We just set up on the other side.
I have to mention though, that we've seen nudity at other beaches too. Francis a couple of times, Salt Pond, and most oddly, Caneel's Turtle Bay.
I have never understood the appeal of being completely naked on a beach. It seems to me that sand would get into places that would be extremely uncomfortable.

The few times I've seen nude people on Solomon, they were people that shouldn't even be nekkid in their own shower.

As to swimming nekkid, I've always had this fear of something nibbling and/or biting off certain body parts.

We were surprised by a rather large man emerging from the ocean at Jumbie on our first trip. It's a rather small area so it was pretty awkward! Francis was another place we saw it as well. Yuck!

We didn't see any nekkid folks at Salomon, but to me, Salomon's so awesome, I'd be willing to put up with a few nature lovers to be on that beach. There are enough places to set up that you wouldn't have to look at them, I think. Salomon is the beach I always fantasized about when I didn't even know it existed.

Funny you should ask...
Last week we hiked to Salomon and for the first time in the many times we have been, there was a single (as in one; not unmarried) naked man lying under a sea grape tree. That being said, it took awhile before we even noticed him (I did go back through my pictures to make sure I hadn't inadvertently taken a picture of him

- I had not). I doubt you'll have to worry about stumbling across a group of nudists there.

Well, I've never seen naked folks on the beaches of St. John, ever... Makes me wonder if I'm just lucky or unlucky or simply being in my own world

.
Anyway, I think Salomon is too good of a beach to pass for almost any reason. If you happen to find nudity at Salomon and can't get relaxed there, you'll still have a great alternative next door, Honeymoon.
Have a wonderful trip!

We've seen nude sunbathers at Solomon, Jumbie and Frances on occation. They have always been descreet and I personally don't have a problem with it. What bugs me more are the people that don't speak quietly to each other but prefer to shout and scream and annoy others around them. I'll take a quiet naked person over the loud pain-in-the-ass any day!! Just sayin'.

That's my 2 cents for today. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Diana2, I'm with you. Honestly, my husband and I would take quiet naked folks over loud obnoxious souls at the beach any day.

Actually, "nekid" is my secret weapon. I can clear a beach with one lap.
My speedo works too but that takes three laps and its not nearly as much fun.

All we have to do is decide which beach on which day. Imagine...no crowds all week.
