Hoosierdaddy Trip Report Day 2 - LIfe is a Beach

With my trip report for day one I didn’t have pictures so here is a picture of our villa greater. He was very friendly. I didn’t tip him either.

We stayed at Blue Heaven Rendezvous and it was beautiful. Here is the view we had of Rendezvous Bay. We were in the hot tub every night.

We had several iguanas in the trees the next morning. By the end of the week they all had names as well as most of the lizards.

This was our first full day and we were hitting the beach. My understanding was that from our location we could take the short cut through the middle of the island to get to the North Shore Beaches. Just to remind you we rented a minivan. We headed out at 9:00-9:30 and went to centerline road and then decided to take 206 to North Shore Road. Ok if any of you are familure with 206 you are laughing right now. Not a road for a minivan. We made it fine, though we would never have made it back up.
Our first stop was Maho. WOW! Where else in the world can you drive up and are 10 yards from one of the prettiest beaches in the world? We found our own spot and settled in nestled between the sea grape trees/bushes. My kids loved the beach and we snorkeled to the left. On that day there was so many small 1-3 inch fish we thought we were going to grab a handful with each stroke. We thought we may see some turtles but no luck. While on the beach my 13 year old found a fresh coconut. We knew it was fresh because we saw it fall from the tree. I don’t know if it is legal, but we took it home and the boys were able to get it open. They then used a cheese grater to shave it. It was neat having fresh coconut all week to add to our foods.

After a few hours we were hungry so we packed up the minivan and headed for Cinnamon. This ended up being our favorite beach and we returned two other times. I was shocked to see two whitetail deer in the Jungle near the parking lot. The kids liked renting skim boards and because of the north swells they had some nice waves.

We ate at Cinnamon. The food was fine for lunch food. I really like the snorkeling at Cinnamon. I have never seen so many sea fans. We stayed late and then we were headed to Cruz Bay and the Beach Bar.
We arrived at the Beach Bar at 5:00 and planned on eating there but it was too crowded. The restaurant was full and there may have been 50-100 people on the beach. I did see Ruth walk buy and may have seem Joshie! We stopped in front of the Spice Cam and my 18 year old wrote a message in the sand for his girl friend and called her back in IN. She thought it was very sweet of him. We then returned to the villa. The kids decided they would rather eat most of the nights at the Villa so we had spaghetti. Sorry no food porn from the villa. We spent the rest of the evening watching basketball and enjoying the hot tub.
