it's fabulous. stayed there 2 years ago right around this time. cannot wait to go back, looks like they painted the living area a pretty yellow and added a small pool on the deck. it's heaven, and johns folly is the perfect spot. oh god, i must get back there and soon. they've added a restaurant at concordia and that funky lunchstand at salt pond i understand.

Just want to chime in here with a rave review of this villa (we were there this last week):

My first reaction when we arrived at Beas Maison was: the photos do not do it justice!!! The ceilings were higher, the new paint job was prettier, the landscaping was lusher, it was more private and larger than I thought...I could go on and on. It was unbelievably gorgeous. It had a washer/dryer, dish washer, EVERYTHING to make it homey and convenient. Even the dishes and kitchen tools were beautiful. On the huge deck was a large dipping pool overlooking the incredible view. There were no less than 4 eating areas in and around the house. The main portion of the house was a great room (living, dining, kitchen), a large bedroom with king bed and a bathroom. There was another bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom that was separated from the main house by a breezeway. We didn't use this room, but it made the house perfect for a family vacation too.

The back patio smelled divine...jungle, organic, green. I kept saying that I wished I could bottle the smell and take it home.

I cannot recommend Beas Maison highly enough...although I am reluctant to do so in case we can't book there again when we want to return!

cwaver, I know you reached out to ask me about this place a while back and I never got back to you. Life got in the way! But I thought I'd add to this thread with my feedback.

The villa itself is beautiful. The deck is heaven, we spent most of our time there, using the telescope and binoculars to watch the boats in the water. The pool is just enough for two people, and the breeze is almost constant even on the steamy afternoons. We never felt the absence of an AC with the fans and constant breeze. The hermit crab colony on site is very entertaining. If you throw your leftovers over the edge of the deck, they will eat anything... even egg shells! The kitchen had everything we could ever need, and there was a great grill out on the front porch.

My few minor complaints were these:
- The shower in the master bath. I know the owners are very concerned with water/energy preservation, which I can respect. But the water pressure in the master bath was so minimal, it was almost laughable at times. We're pretty low maintenence and this is such a silly thing to complain about in my mind, but it was bad. And the pressure was so low, you had to take a shower twice as long in order to feel clean, which sort of negated the whole point.
- The master bed. Again, another silly thing to complain about, but it's worth mentioning that it was VERY firm! Very... very firm.
- The location. And this is 100% personal preference. We had previously stayed on the Cruz Bay side of the island, and we wanted to try to other side to get a different feel. I would not want to stay on that side again. It just seemed very far from everything and overly quiet. I love peace and quiet, but I guess I have my limits. I know people have their issues with Cruz Bay, but I realized how much I love the energy of the town and I really missed passing through it every morning on the way to the beaches.

Wakey, I thought the exact same thing! I think this would freak me out at my villa.

The girls at our villa freaked out over the resident hermit crab that lived by the steps. That was just one; I'm sure this would cause them to have a stroke.

Yes those are the resident hermit crabs. And that wasn't even all of them! But just so you understand the perspective, this colony was located at least 20 feet below the deck, and there was no way for them to get up to the 'human area.' We didn't see one crab up on the deck in the time we were there. The photo was taken from below the deck in an unfinished area, just to get a little closer view.

This area would be completely bare, and then we'd throw down whatever we didn't eat on our plates (which was encouraged by the owners) and watch them come scurrying over from every direction. Really fascinating.

We did see a few stragglers at the front of the house in the covered patio area. But there was only 1 or 2 at a time, and they were slow and skittish.

I looked this villa up, and it was very reasonable. I am definitely putting it on the list for the future.
