Many travelers to the East End have reported brief encounters with the locals, possibly the same ones as you...my guess is that it is curiosity that brings them to the visitor, not expectations of "something" more than a moment of connection or a break in the routine of their day. You show up...they respond...you leave...they go politely (most times,I hope) back to the ordinary day until another of interest comes by.
As always great photos...thanks.
...and donkey-boy...do you have a comment?

It's easy to make a sunset or a beach scene beautiful. It requires a special eye to find beauty in a place where others might miss it.

I love it, Joshie. I'm really missing the island right now, not having a trip booked this year (yet...still hoping). Your pictures make me happy.

I really enjoy your photos. I imagine that if you wanted to give access to all of your galleries, you would have done so by now.

Some days, I actually really miss seeing the donkeys. And the goats... on the ballfield in Coral Bay... in the morning. (Hint hint.)
Thanks, Joshie.
