Trip Advisor site is saying Paris Car Rental has gone out of business.

According to TA, this happened last week.

Anyone know any more info?

I was next door yesterday doing a pick up and they seemed open.

I think it has something to do with renting out of Caneel but using the online Hertz reservation system.

I never wanted to believe this from the beginning!

We used Paris, renting @ Caneel in the past and couldn't have been more pleased. We had courteous, friendly service w/ a smile and a newer Jeep .

SO it came as a surprise to me that someone w/ all that going on would go out of business, which made me post the initial post as more of a question than a statement.

My initial suspicion was that there might be a problem just at Caneel. We did not book thru Hertz, but directly with Paris.

I hope whatever created the initial post over at TA (why??? do I read their site...much less reliable than here!!!)...was just plain bad info!

It's worth a call, but I would bet they've decided to stop paying the Hertz concession fees and terminated the contract.

Carolyn, I was the origianl poster on TA and what I wrote I felt was true information, this was the TA post

"Just a FYI....I just tired to make reservations through Hertz's website for the Caneel Bay location. It was working last week when I checked prices for June, however it now says this location is permanently closed. If you check for rentals for this month it says please contact location for reservations. Just wanted everyone to be aware. "

If Paris or Caneel are still renting cars I don't know but by Hertz' website they are closed. I thought if anyone made a reservation for June with Hertz it would be smart to double check as when there is a change of ownership or whatever sometimes current reservations are not honored/lost/ect. I am sorry for those that felt I gave "bad information". I was mearly tring to be helpful.
