friends just returned from Stt and said they were selling liquor inside the secure terminal now. How does this work, is it really inside terminal & do you carry it on the plane with you agAin? I only know about the one by the luggage claim & I've never brought from there.

Yes they are selling it inside the terminal past security and customs. You will have to check it plane side like an oversized carryon. They aren't allowed to charge you for it.

Thanks for the info. I really didn't think she knew what she was talking about, but knew if I got on this forum y'all would know all about it. So does it count as one of your two carryons even though your not really carrying it on the plane?

Hi there

Checking in from England :D

I flew AA last week on my way to London and they allowed passengers to carry on their liquor purchases that were made within the secure area - so who knows - maybe it's the agents that make the call.

Hello,

We flew Continental from STT on 3/25 and bought liquor inside the terminal past security. Prices not bad and very convenient. We had no problem carrying on. We were on a nonstop flight so I don't know what would happen if you have to change planes. It also did not appear to count toward our number of allowed carry on items. I don't know if the policy is a airline dependent, gate agen dependent, or just random. Just remember that you have to carry it all the way to the baggage claim area when you land which could be a pretty long walk and this stuff is heavy if you can't get a cart.

Bought liquor in the terminal this afternoon, packaged nicely in a box, allowed to carry onto the aircraft and arrived safely with us in Boston this evening.
Couldn't be easier and the price was right!

We are taking CapeAir to SJ then switching to our flight to NJ (I can't remember what airline we are switching to)...will that be a problem? And on that note...does anyone know anything about CapeAir? Are the planes really small??

We were there the very first day they opened on 3/18. Definitely some wrinkles to work out regarding airlines allowing carry on. There was a 15% off the top on 4 bottles or more special... don't know if it is still on. Best booze buy I noted was Mount Gay rum at 6 dollars and change a bottle.
