Did the police ever catch/arrest the murderer of Juan Ayala, owner of Caps? We were there in January and the club was gated and closed. Wondering what is/will be happening with that location.

I haven't heard anything in the news or through the grapevine about progress on the murder. Very very sad considering how small our community is. Hopefully they have some leads and are just keeping mum.
I've noticed that they have started taking things out of Cap's. There are some tarps up and I saw some trucks there a week or so ago. It is all closed up so it's hard to tell what is going on. Looks like they are clearing it out though.

Does anyone know if something else is going in there?

Can someone remind me...Cap's is the place across the street from Uncle Joe's with the huge "$2 Presedente" banner above it...right?
I'd hate to see it end up closed down (if that's what's happening). I guess I didn't realize it was closed all this time. It was an interesting spot to say the very least, but the beer was always icy cold and cheap.

When we were on isalnd in February, I asked about Cap's and was told it was currently for sale - which seemed odd as it was so soon after Juan's murder. It was sad to see the chains on the doors while there.

A day or so before we left the island (March 30)...I heard that Cap's had sold. Whether or not that is accurate information...I do not know. However...I do know that there was activity going on inside Cap's (a blue tarp or two...some "construction materials"...a few "workers"...etc.) the week prior. Food for thought. Someone on island will have to further investigate...
Is it October yet?

There are new owners of "Caps" and they are in the process of remodeling and will open in the near future - at least that is what I was told last week.
