watch out for the cancelation clause from mango bay on virgin gorda. we had to cancel our trip due to no fault of our own with 8 months notice. they kept $300 dollars and one month later we are still waiting for the rest of our deposit. To add insult to injury, after admitting that they did not processes the credit for three weeks they have sent us a nasty email telling us that they will not do anything to help trace the credit.
During these difficult economic times they would be well served to be a bit more customer friendly.

Damn

That is lame! Hooray for St. John, we had a death in the family and canceled our trip about 12 hours beforehand. Everyone is offering us a credit for return. Sorry to hear they are giving you such a pain!

If you paid using a credit card, your card company may be able to help you get some of your money back. Amex is particularly good about that, and I got help once from Visa after making a purchase from an online store that went out of business.

Good luck!

I should have know when they would not take american express, that is not a good sign. I phoned Visa and they are looking into it, in my experience they are never as helpful and american express but I am giving it a try.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I finally did get my charge credit. It is a shame that the management was so rude and unhelpful. You would think that during this difficult economic time they would be sensitive to their clients.
We are happy to have a portion of our deposit back, but will NEVER consider staying at Mango Bay again.
