Taxis from Cruz Views?

We're doing a quick 3-night getaway next week. Yes, it's pitifully short, but it was our only gap b/w my husband's conference and starting my new job.
Anyway, we're staying at Cruz Views. I initially opted not to rent a car - I don't want to waste any precious time picking it up or dropping it off. Plus, we planned on doing a dinghy for one of our full days, so we wouldn't need a car that day anyway. But, I began thinking - exactly how easy is it to pick up a cab from Cruz Views? Do plenty go by on that main road that CV is on? Or, would you just suck it up and get a car?

We did this two weeks ago. I would get a taxi drivers card and arrange pickups, if that's what you want. We just walked down the hill. Taxis back from the ferry dock are pretty straightforward.

Thanks Rick. Is it fairly safe to walk down that hill? I really have no sense of how far CV is up Centerline from, say, Dolphin Market. I thought it was quite a hike, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised?

How do you get to Cruz Views from town? I want to check it out next trip just not quite sure where it is located. Thanks!

Cruz Views are the buildings and pool located at the cross-hairs (center) of this aerial photo. You can move the photo around and zoom in/out to get a perspective of where it is:

Cruz Views driving directions:
Drive up Centerline until you get to a 90o left turn towards the black water tank. Pocket Money Hill is the steep climb directly ahead. It's a 10 minute walk to/from Dolphin Market.

I think gradient is more an issue than the distance to/from Cruz Bay. I'm guessing the walk to town is easier than the walk back - I'll know first hand in a couple of days...
