Heads up: AA flights through JFK

I am not sure how many this may impact but I thought I'd give a heads up to check your flights.
Our orginal connection through JFK was moved from 8am to 7am making it impossible for us to make since we don't arrive from DC until 7:05. AA, in their wisdom, moved our DCA-JFK flight up a day creaing a 1 night layover in NY. The good news is we would have landed on STT at 10:45 in the morning on the day of our original departure. The bad news is that the overnight in NYC was not happening.
The silver lining...when I called to rebook for a same day departure and arrival they couldn't have been more helpful. Now we are going through MIA and landing at the standard 2 something ;-(

My flight in July was changed to 7:00 a.m. too. The only silver lining is that I'll be on island an hour sooner but it's a small consolation. We (8 of us) take the "train to the plane." In order to do that we have to take a train at about 1:30 a.m. which will have us in the airport by 3:30 a.m. With the original 8:00 a.m. flight we didn't have to leave until around 4:00 a.m. I'm hoping they adjust it back before we leave. BTW, AA didn't send me an email I only found out because I just checked to see how full the plane is.
Thanks for the heads up!

We were switched without notice to a flight on the day before our original booking, forcing us to sleep at JFK! I was able to switch back to our original day from Boston and connect in San Juan. Would not have known- thanks again Flip!

NOPE SJ, we're not. My miles were with Delta and nothing was coming up for us, so I busted the piggie bank and paid cold hard cash -- $320 or something a ticket (so fairly cheap).
Still --- annoying. But only 1 stop. DCA-MIA-STT. Typically we're Dulles-ATL-STT. I HATE the Atlanta airport and DCA is much closer to my house so that should help. I was really looking forward to leaving home at 4:30 am and being on the ground in STT by noon. Oh well...at least I get to sleep in an hour later now. Like I sleep the night before!

they changed our flight also, but they wanted us to fly down the night before our original departure date...well that wasn't going to happen, but all is good, instead of arriving at noon time we will get to st. thomas at 2:30pm...not to bad, considering what could have happened...

Flip, Your original plan was bold! I can't imagine making a connection thru JFK with kids. Don't you wish there were direct flights from DC to STT?

Our flight was change also. Only found out about it from Yapta, because they couldn't track my fare anymore. I have to call AA right now. Wish me luck.

We don't mess around. My kids keep up or get left behind when mama's going to STJ.

We made a 45 minute connection in August through newark. I didn't realize there was construction in the airport that necessitated a gate change that involved a little shuttle bus. I was scared, but we made it.
But oh well...now we have 2 hours in Miami. Gromit gets the club access (lounges ... whatever you call them) and can take an extra person in with her (her hubby will be bringing in her mom) I am thinking of leaving Mr. Flip-Flop and the kids among the masses. Is that mean?
I would almost KILL for a direct flight from DC to STT! (Off-season, cause I am too cheap to travel in season).

Flip - Not mean at all. When Momma is happy, everyone is happy! I would explain to my husband that if he wears the kids out in the airport, they all can nap on the plane!
I'm thinking if we get a local politician to fly regularly to STT a direct flight may suddenly become a reality?
Hey Flipflop
