From looking at the map of the cottages, # 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9 are the furthest from the beach.

It's not far from the beach but I "think" you won't be able to see the beach from your cottage unless you were outside and standing up. My estimation is those stretch of cottages are about 3/4 of a block from the beach.

It's been a few years but we have stayed there three times. I remember after the first time we learned to request unit #10. If it was taken when we arrived we would ask to be moved when #10 became available. Whatever unit you are in you are not far from the water and a perfect view is just steps away. Not luxury accommodations but you can't go wrong for the price.

I asked for 10, but there wasnt any available...the only other one was 9 and we would have to move to 8 during our stay..looking at the map I told her just to put us in 8 for the entire stay. We have been to Cinnamon Bay but we were staying in a Villa so this will be new to us as far as staying on STJ.

We have been to Cinnamon Bay a couple of times. Don't worry.....you are a VERY VERY short walk to the beach. You will be able to hear the waves...and see out to the trees that separate you and the beach. You will be closer to the bathhouse and store/restaurant than if you stayed in 10.....I have stayed in 10...not bad....great veiw....but FAR from the bathrooms which is tough with kids...and it get DARK there. Bring stuff for lighting..flashlights/lanterns...etc. We had a good time...but we are not "great" campers. can't beat the location for the price...that's for sure!
