Jorge can find a 3 hour direct flight from Virginia because he doesn't really exist. Don't let anyone fool ya, he is a figment of someone's imagination. But I still love him!

What's the drive from Blacksburg to Charlotte? 4+ hours. I wouldn't exactly call that a local direct flight. Add your drive and your total travel time is no better, maybe even worse than anyone on the East coast with a connection.

hmmm i dunno, sometimes it takes me 2 hours to get to JFK (and as the crow flies, i am basically next door!)
but usually for the early AA flight, there, luckily, is no traffic.....

I don't see where the original poster asked about total travel time - only where he was able to find a 3 hour direct flight from VA to STT?

But I have been known to miss the little details, and as time goes by the little details seem to be growing!

The last time I checked, I didn't live in Virginia!

Around the time of the VA Tech nightmare, it was clear to me that Jorge was from Blacksburg, VA. Perhaps I misunderstood, but I have 2 nephews at Tech one of whom travels for a team sport so my time quote from Blacksburg,VA to Charlotte,NC was courtesy of him. 2 hours must be in a helicopter or something because its well over 200 miles, probably closer to 250. In a car that's a good 4+ hours with no traffic.

I am just trying to keep it real. When you are looking at direct flights, if you have to drive 4 hours to get to said direct flight the awesomeness of the direct flight kind of goes out the window.

I always drive 3.5 hours to for my filghts to STT and if I can get a direct filght it is a bounus
