Tonga has live volcanoes right?
Would an earthquake cause a volcano to erupt or was the eruption on Tonga what caused the tremors on St. John?

I don't even know where Tonga is....Would the earthquake cause the eruption or the eruption cause the earthquake???

Tonga is in the South Pacific between Australia and Tahiti. It would have to be one hell of an eruption to have an impact on the USVI.
