Hmmmm....since we haven't actually booked anything that couldn't be changed, I wonder how to find the deals. I went to expedia and nothing was glaringly obvious, but I haven't had much coffee yet.

This is a good point actually and something I have issue with. Many of these DOT promos can be very hard to find - and often are set up first for the travel agent set - not for do it yourselfers or people using the intertubes. I think it is bigger picture thing they need to address in the near future.
