If I remember correctly, you are allowed to keep up to two, and I think there is a size limit as well, but I am sure one of the on-island people will know better than me. That was what our Ocean Runner captain told us.

Well it suprised the heck out of me but I think there is a season. You can take lobster, conk and welk as I read it on a sign at Hawksnest. Sure someone like hugo will pipe in, if not make sure to check with the Park Service, don't want to get anyone arrested.

Here in Florida, prime lobster holes are well guarded secrets - I'd imagine that it's no different on STJ.

That being said, it's a bit of a crapshoot finding them. Once you learn what types of places they generally hang out in, you just poke around until you find one - then the fun begins - capturing them, measuring them to ensure they're legal, and getting them in your bag and/or on your boat.

But it's worth it!

So you can take lobster and conch from the waters right off the park beaches? You can just snorkel out and grab any lobster you see? I did not know that was legal.
