Started packing last night- anybody else have pets that get all upset when they see you packing? My 20 yr old cat just has a fit following me all around and screeching at me (part Siamese and very vocal).

We're bringing some food with us-not any meats or big items, but we like having our cheese/crackers w/alcohol every afternoon.

Then I have that folder of papers you have to bring-reservation confirmations, phone numbers, flight info; pages that were copied from here listing restaurants/bars etc. And you know the most pages I have are all the drink mixes I've copied  At home we're wine drinkers (support NY grapes!)and beer drinkers (proximity to the strong Canadian beer)-but on vacation-I want my smoothy style mixed drinks made up in big blender batches :D Now that's a vacation!

Weather report's looking pretty good; definitely better than here and that's all that matters. I just keep checking out the spice cam.... :)

Hope you have a wonderful time!! I can't wait for our trip in May to get here!

My kitty definitely doesn't like it when I start to pack - he keeps trying to get in the suitcase. Packing consists of take cat out of suitcase, put item in, turn around get next item, take cat out of suitcase, put item in, etc, etc.

Our paths may cross. We're scheduled to land on STT at 2:24 Saturday. Already warned my wife that the swells could keep us from Haulover.

Our dog would remove clothing from the suitcase!

fellow Siamese owner here and yes, they behave badly when we are packing. Yet I know once we leave, they are LOVING the total relaxation and cat-sitter spoiling they receive.

I also travel with The Folder. Someone other forumite I know puts her stuff in a Duo-Tang. MB, where are you?

Roberto-we're scheduled in on Continental somewhere around 2:30 also....planning on the 4pm Red Hook ferry. We'll bump into each other at the taxi stand :)
Sunny-one of my cats does that too-'cept she's black and it's really hard to see when she's in the bag (one of those kind that open at the top) so i've dumped clothes on her before!

I wish the 20 yr old would relax while we're gone-instead I think she vocalizes the whole time because she's usually hoarse when we get back... have to admit it's a little funny when she tries to meow and croaks instead.... They get visits several times while we're gone at least.

Hoping that the swells will have "unswollen" some by next week. Here's to free drinks at the welcome center!

Have a great trip Toni!!! Our dog paces and whines in excitement to go to the doggie day care place where she plays so hard she wears her pads out and they have to confine her for a while! :D

we're also leaving saturday and our 2 chocolate labs bruno and bella are putting 2 and 2 together remembering previous luggage appearances...wish we could take them, they would love the water there.

Toni, we're in Jamestown. I'm thinking you may be,as well, or close :)
Yes, our dogs get crazy when we start packing, but so do the kids!!! If they catch us packing, they're dying for all the details! We have three young adults still living at home, and we never say a word to them about going away, on purpose. The less time they have to scheme or plan a party, the better. We leave an emergency stash of cash hidden somewhere, just in case we get a call that they need something.
Enjoy your trip! We've had a horrible winter!
