Funny thing happened at a client's office today

I got off the subway today after reading Jorge's PWTR #10 during the ride and walked through a cold January rain with a smile on my face to a client's office in downtown DC. One of the people that I've been working with was back from holiday with a seriouse tan. "Oh, I was on this little island, St. John." I asked where she stayed and when she said Gallows Point, I had to make a smug remark "Ah, between ZoZo's and the Beach Bar!" She was surprised I had heard of the place.

She had never been to St. John before and was totally blown away, already planning her next trip. I see this reaction often with people who visit casually and decide to dig in a bit.

Cheers, Rick

That happened to me with a client, too...but in a different way. I wear a hook bracelet...Marcia and I bought them several years ago. So, I'm in this meeting and when it was done the client asks, "which island do you go to?" You know the rest.

Yesterday I went to get my eyes checked for an up to date prescription and to finally at 48 get fitted for contacts. Have a stigmatism and want to see clearly when I am looking through my mask in 10 days. Anyway back to my adding in on this subject, I explained my reason to the eye doc and he said where are you going, guess what, same thing, he has been coming down to St John for 15 years and he knew nothing of tis forum. Well he had 6 patients in the office waiting and all he wanted to do is talk about St John, tell me where to snorkel, eat, drink .... I told him about the forum and I am sure when I stepped out of the office he was looking it up. The hell with the 6 patients in the office, lol!

Betty, I have exactly the same situation with my dentist in Annandale, VA!! He went to St. Bart's last year and missed St. John terribly. He always asks me and my daughters about our last and next trips.

My company just hired a new sales rep and he was training with my colleague in the next cubicle. I hear her say: "You HAVE to talk to Lysa!"

Come to find out, he worked on St John for 8 months with his now fiance. He just got back to the mainland in May.

Let's just say I've made a new friend :)!

Yeah, so very funny. Glad I don't go to that doctor.
