One of my clients is moving to Georgetown in a couple of weeks and will be looking for a good vet for her 9 month old weimeraner. Do any of you have a vet that you can recommend? Feel free to pm me or post it.

Also, if you have a good doggie day care or dog walker service, those are much appreciated too.

Start here - good but not cheap:

Your client should take the pooch for walks around the neighborhood. There are formal and informal doggie parks. Local knowledge is best for finding pet sitters and walkers.

I can't help with vet recs, but for doggie daycare and pet services, I am a huge fan of the Old Towne School for Dogs (http://www.otsfd.com/). EXCELLENT trainers. Any manners my 9 year old lab has are due to a month of training (daily) there as a puppy. BUT they are in Alexandria, not DC.

They also have a HUGE facility about 2 minutes from my house in the burbs (Springfield right off of interstate 95 so very convenient if they find themselves traveling south for vacation by car) called the Olde Town Pet Resort (http://www.oldetownepetresort.com/indexf.html). Its nicer than some hotels where I've stayed. Not cheap but really worth every penny. My pup can be a bit neurotic if left in normal boarding situations and she absolutely loves the pet resort. She goes nuts when she realizes that she's going there.
