I was wondering if that huge front we've had would affect you guys...I'm sorry for those of you who are going to be vacationing in the next few days..You'll just have to drink more at poolside. And hopefully it won't be that bad. I'll keep my fingers crossed for all of you!

We've seen the North Swell on Tortola get so big that the surfers are taking dinghy rides past the breakers.

In 2004 I was on Capoons Bay on Tortola using the cell tower on St. Thomas for a phone conversation, while watching a 4 year old play in the surf. I asked the boy and his Mom if they were comfortable with the waves and the 22 year old Mom made a snarkey "we live here" comment. 60 seconds later I was swimming past the shore break with my eye on the last place I saw that kid. Diving down I saw him getting sucked out along the bottom and grabbed an ankle and dragged him through a couple more big shore breaks. Mom was hollering at me and the kid was too scared to speak, when he wasn't puking salt water

Never did find that phone.

Respect the swell.

Cheers, RickG

Joshie, glad i'm not the only one who recognized Tubular Bells from "The Exorcist" and got a little creeped out!

Rick, good save. I was on a beach on the Long Island Sound once while a mother looked indulgently on her kids "pretending" to drown. You gotta have a license to drive but any idiot can reproduce.

At first I didn't realize the music was attached to the video - great video by the way! - and I thought you were doing "creepy" again, Joshie! LOL! I actually love that song!

That's amazing video. Where can I watch that real time?

Also, I don't understand these North swells and what they have to do with the storm we just had here up North.

Can someone explain???

Check out the line of weather that moved off of the East Coast and runs all the way down to the Caribbean. There's the connection between the two.[/img]

Well, I guess I've got bad timing two years in a row. We came last march with the huge swells and now it's coming again while I'm here. Maybe I should leave vies and go to hawksnest while it's still calm!!

gymnastika,
I LOVE your avatar. Is that your son in the photo? You know, he looks a lot like my friend Ben Chill.
See you Sunday if not before!
