Wasn't one of our best vacations... I got sick on day 3 (had to find a doctor), my underwater camera filled with water, lots of high winds and north swells... BUT DARN IT... I'M WRITING A TRIP REPORT!!!

I'm just now starting to feel better... I blame it on that snotty nosed little kid that was coughing up a lung behind me, and his dad finally saying after an hour and a half... "you really should cover your mouth when you cough"... arrrgggg!!!

I'm going to start writing this weekend.. PROMISE!

Tami, I was wondering why I didn't see you at the Beach Bar on Sunday...we were there - in the rain so up top and it was crowded but didn't spot any Forumites.

I got sick my first week too but drank my way through it with plenty of rum. Sorry to hear that it was bad enough to seek a doctor for you.

I owe my trip report too but life has been too darn crazy since I return just 2.5 weeks ago (honestly, feels a lifetime ago).

I look forward to your report - I'm sure you had some bright spots.

Hey nancy... we did go to the BB on Sunday the 8th (in the rain). We were on the beach sitting under the tree, until it was raining so hard that even the tree wasn't helping anymore. (that might have contributed to me getting sick too)... We couldn't even get up close to the bar.. too many people. There was a group sitting across from us that had umbrella's.. I think they actually made it in the St. John News blog...

We didn't make it to the next Sunday BB, when Traveler22 would have been there.. I just couldn't bring myself to get going.

It's been crazy here at work too.. I can't believe that we just came back last week.. Already seems like a lifetime ago as well! But it looks like you've got another trip coming up... GOOD FOR YOU!

Hey, I did mine already, you guys are slackers :D Just kidding, It must have been that week because I was also sick for about 3 day prior to leaving and the first two days on-island but as Nancy_B said, Rum and salt water will cure anything. I didn't make it to the BB Jazz either, I hate to say it but High Tide was alot less crowded and on the beach too.

luvinsun,
I feel your pain. I too got sick (but not enough for a doctor ) last trip. Non stop coughing from my scratchy throat and eventually laryngitis. At least it was only the last few days. Our underwater camera also took on water but we were able to salvage the pictures. Re-entry really sucked that trip.

I have a really bad habit of getting a cold on vacation. I don't know if it is the flying tin can full of germs or what. At least you can plan the next one and it will be better! I'll be waiting for your TR.

Tami,

We did see the group under the tree and we didn't walk down because of the rain. I think you and I talked in the line for the bathroom. Right when we came back from the bathroom, you had to move topside to eat your food, right? I had a 'haven't I seen you forum' koozie so I thought folks would recognize me.

Again, I'm sorry to hear you got so sick.

Nancy

Nancy - no, that wasn't me. We never left the beach. There was a couple that came under the tree with us but when it really started pouring, they went up to the bar. We didn't know them.. was just chatting with the gentleman (while the wife went to the restroom)... I definitely would have recognized your forum koozie and said something. We stayed about an hour (5:30 till 6:30), then decided to head back to Coral Bay while it was still light outside. We ended up at Island Blues for the evening. Good food there.

Also, I could see Reef Madness from our villa and was thinking of you!

Brenda - my husband made me find the doctor, as I had a fever, chills, horrible chest congestion, no appetite.. it was nasty! Re-entry does stink

Traveler Scott- I think the salt water did help a little (Mike - our villa owner) said that was a good thing to do. I am glad then I didn't miss you at the BB.

VI Lover - I'm going to start writing my TR this weekend!!! Did get lots of pretty sunrise pictures from our deck.. just lovely!

I'm a firm believer that the island sunshine can cure anything!
