Long time lurker...finally signed up.

This year we are going down for the last week of October and the first week of November. We want to go to JVD for Halloween but the logistics are proving difficult. We have lodging on STJ and want to get back at some point during the night. The plan is to take the ferry over in the morning. The last public ferry runs at 5pm or so if my memory serves me and that's too early to enjoy the party.

The US based captains that we have spoken to so far aren't too keen on just running us back from JVD. They want to do round trip and tack on an all day charter. We are looking for a 1 way trip from JVD to STJ with about 12 people.

Does anyone here have direct personal experience with getting from JVD to STJ on Halloween eve? Any help is appreciated in advance.

Hi!

Last year we were on STJ for Halloween week. We did Foxy's for Halloween and also found the logistics a little difficult.

We took the ferry over in the morning, stayed at the Perfect Pineapple that evening, and then took the 5pm ferry back to STJ the next day. Yes, we paid for a room when we alreay had a villa on STJ but we would have paid that much for a private charter boat to take us back to STJ. We also didn't have to travel after too much to drink, got a lot more time on Jost to explore, and a beautiful view to wake up to (White Bay). It was well worth it and we would definetly do it again.

Foxy's was a blast on Halloween. Getting dressed up and seeing everyone else dressed up was great. The buffett was EXCELLENT!!

XOXO

rpplano - I'll suggest that to mrs canestfr and then hope I'm not beat with said broom!

bug - Thank you for your insight. I'm more than comfortable with getting a cabin at Ivan's (or whatever) and staying on island for the night. Some of our other guests aren't and I'm trying to be accomodating.

Any other advice is greatly appreciated.
