We are staying in a mountain top villa near Coral Bay in July/August for our honeymoon. The villa does not have AC and I'm wondering if it will be ok with the breeze and all the fans. Thanks for your feedback! We are truly excited!

I don't know how it will be in July but when we were in Coral Bay in late April it was breezy all of the time and I actually had a jacket on at night..

We always go in June and July and its HOT!!!! I would NOT want to stay in a villa during those months without AC in the bedrooms. We turn it off when we're not there but I would need it to sleep...I think we would be miserable without it. Some people may disagree...just my two cents.

We stayed at Orion's Hill on Ajax Mtn overlooking Coral Bay in late June and it was very hot. The breezes were fantastic - we never turned the AC on once.

I've heard the temps on the mountain can be a bit lower at night and yes the tradewinds help but it all depends on what you are used to.

Like the others I am not sure I could handle sleeping at night in high temps and humidity-- mostly it's the humidity and stickiness. Mainly cause it's sticky and if you leave the windows open you are going to get bit by the skeeters and noseeums.

You will have to use some serious bug spray before going to bed at night which means it may curtail honeymoon-like activities since bug spray is neither tasty nor healthy. Just sayin....

Hopefully the house will have some fans that you can place around the bedroom to keep the air circulating.

Like I said, everyone's different but I wouldn't even dream of renting a villa in te middle of summer that didn't at least have AC in the bedrooms.

Does the place at least have a pool that you can jump in and cool off at night?

We've always traveled to Coral Bay in August. We stay high up and have never used air conditioning. Between the tradewinds and the ceiling fans, it has been heaven. I had the same concern before our first trip, but being on the east side and high, we have never had a problem. In fact, I always have a long sleeve shirt for evenings on the deck.

Thanks so much for your responses. I lived in St. John without AC and the summers were a bit rough but that was in Cruz Bay. I hope that it will be ok. It won't bother me but it might bother my fiance. Thanks for all your help gang!
