My 19 year old God Son (a Marine) just found out that he is being deployed to Afganistan at the end of April. He is being given leave from April 10th to the 26th. Lucky for him we just happen to have a trip booked April 18th - 25th. Since our daughter is coming with us, we asked him to join us. He just got approval from his Commander.
Is a Military ID an acceptable form of ID for the USVI? What about doing a day trip to Jost?
Thanks for you info!
XOXO

Does he have a valid driver's liscence? As far as I know the driver's liscence is still good for the USVI. I would guess a military ID would work since it is issued by the US Govt. As far as BVI I think he will need a passport. Tell you God son I said "Semper Fi" I was in from 1981 to 1989.

He will still need the passport for BVI.

Yes his ID will work but bring his Birth certf. too As you can be in the military and not be a citizen and he can go to the bvi's if he has both.
Tell him thanks for me and to keep hes head down.

He will still need a birth certificate with a raised seal for the BVI to go along with his military ID. I had this issue arise and the BVI officials told me this. There reasoning is that we have no military bases there.

Thanks for all the quick replies...I just booked his ticket and he does have his raised seal birth certificate so we will be good.
This trip was already special to us since this will be the first time we are sharing the island with our daughter. It's her high shool graduation present. Now, to have our God Son along will be even better (plus they will have a great time hanging out). I thank the man above to have this time with both of them.
XOXO
