Anole, Bordeau Breeze or One Particular Harbor- can't decide

Hello all,

This is our first post on this forum and hopefully some of the experienced Saint John travelers can help us. My wife and I have been to Saint Thomas twice. They were the first two vacations we took together. We always found ourselves taking the ferry from Red Hook over to Saint John for the great beaches. Now it's our ten year wedding anniversary and we decided to go back but stay on Saint John. We are interested in a very private villa. I've narrowed it down to three villas with Anole being the top pick. We'd love to get some recommendations based on your experiences.

Thank you.

I'd pick Bordeaux Breeze. The locations is great and this is a fairly new villa. The you are closer to the Northshore road and the northshore beaches that the other villas on your list. This one gets my vote.

Anole is a good location but an older villa. I'm not sure if there's AC in the bedrooms in that house or not. I love the Catherineberg views but you're quite a ways from the beaches up there unless you take the John Head Road (VERY VERY ROUGH) down to the Northshore Road.

I'm not really familiar with One Particular Harbor but I know it's further to the beach than B. Breeze.

If you have a jeep the John Head road is not too bad....we did it every day. From Anole down to Cinnamon beach is 5 minutes max...

The views from Catherineberg (Anole) are awesome

Good news about John Head rd, I was in Catherinberg recently and they had a bull dozer grading the rd. It was very smooth from Centerline to Wattapama which is the turn off to Anole and La Jolla Caribe etc. They were working their way down to N Shore rd. Hopefully it will last at least until the fall rainy season.
The views were worth it and the weather was incredible, the Christmas winds and waves were gone for most of our trip... like summer. It was nice to have both flat and clear water and a few days of surf.

As long as the Villa is in St John it is all good, I am partial to the N Shore views and Catherinberg is 5 min max to the beach.

Made our Decision

Thanks everyone for your input.

We decided to stay at Bordeaux Breeze. We rented from CV even though they are not getting the greatest of reviews. They were the only ones offering Introductory Pricing on this villa. Check it out on their web site. The savings is substantial. More than paid for our plane tickets.

Speaking of plane tickets. Normally we fly out of Philadelphia but I use www.kayak.com to find the best flights. Through Kayak I found tickets out of JFK on Dela for less than half the price of US Air in Philly. So - we wll head up to JFK the night before.
