Do the islands infiltrate your dreams?

My anxiety has taken this form many times...

I dreamt last night that I was in a car, driving around a charming town (Cruz Bay?) on a sunny day. I asked the people I was with if they wanted to go snorkeling. No one responded. Suddenly we were by a beach, and everyone else was oblivious. I told them I had to get out to go snorkeling. Unfortunately I woke up before I got in the water.

I've had dreams where we were leaving the island, and I realized I had done hardly any swimming and snorkeling. I was heartbroken.

On the other hand, I've dreamt about being on undiscovered beaches.

Am I alone, or do others dream about the islands? Any shrinks out there? Prognosis?

oh I wish I would have some island dreams. that would be like a free trip!

(don't like the bad ones though  those you had sound like the one I have where I have forgotten to show up for classes the whole year...)

the only cure for you is more islands. you must go back, maybe you can write it off as a medical expense!

Oh yes! Before we left for our trip in '07, I dreamt about STJ almost every night for a month! Seriously! But the only one I can remember is the same one you had. I was at the ferry dock getting ready to go home and I hadn't done anything yet! Aack!

California Girl,
It's a relief to hear I'm not alone. I think we need to follow djmom's advice! I'll tell my husband.

I dream about going to STJ pretty often. It usually involves a surprise last minute trip. The only bad thing about it is waking and realizing it was only a dream. I try to go back to sleep quickly in hopes that it will continue but that doesn't work to well for me.

Man that sounds like wet dream that got interupted  I would fell cheated to :x

For some reason I don't seem to dream about St John. Maybe it's because I spend so much time in my wakeing hours daydreaming my brain is burnt out on it by night.

Woke up this morning to my wife looking at me with a smile. She says "how sweet honey, were you dreaming about me?"

I respond, "no, I just had a dream about St. John"

My latest dream (have had it twice in the last week) is that I am on my way to St John and have forgotten my camera. Its a big deal to me underwater camera , housing, regular camera. Of course there is no way I will forget my camera. It is really a bad dream!!!

Nancy,
It's funny how the place we love most in the world gives us anxiety in our dreams. Of course, you will remember your camera and take amazing pictures to share with us!

I dream about STJ all the time...but the island is different in my dreams...it doesn't look the same as the real island, but it is still STJ, and it always appears the same in my dreams. In my dreams we often stay at the same villa, which is a non-existant villa that I have invented in my mind. And in my dreams we can get there really quickly...the car ferry goes from the mainland (Florida maybe?) straight to STJ. I have also taken one of our cats with us...the one that sleeps between us every night as I'm dreaming about STJ :)
