OK guys-- in an effort to get my mind off of the yucky stuff going on in my life right now and focus on more positive things I want to try and finalize the Bad Kitty trip with CalypsoVI (http://www.calypsovi.com) to Virgin Gorda with a couple of fun stops along the way.

Thanks to all of you who PM'd with your interest in this trip!

We've selected Wednesday June 24, but a lot depends on how many people we can get for this date whether we actually do this trip.

The total cost per person is $191.75.
($145 pp + 15% gratuity + $25 customs fees that you must bring with you in cash. Calypso will only charge $166.75 pp to your CC).

Bad Kitty is a catamaran and provides:
-Captain and Crew,
-Continental Breakfast (Assorted Breakfast Breads and Sliced Fresh Fruit)
-Open Bar (Beers, Wine, Painkillers, Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, Champagne, Vodka, Gin, Rum, Juices, Sodas and Water.)
-Snorkel gear and instructions.

Lunch costs are on your own at our mid-day stop. Not sure where that will be yet but it willbe someplace like Cooper Island, the Willy T or Foxy's.

The high speed Cat will be rented exclusively to our group (no strangers) and we need a minimum of 15 people. So far I have six people so we need nine more people to commit and pay in full for the day trip no later than March 20, 2009.

From the PM's that I have received this is shaping up to be mostly an adult trip so please keep that in mind. However if the group is open to kids and we need the people then we can discuss and see how folks feel. There is no discount for children though. They pay the same as an adult.

Stops should include: Virgin Gorda and the Baths, a snorkel stop at the Inidians or some other spot and I will work with them to pick out a good place to stop for lunch. Bad Kitty s pretty fast so we have a bit more flexibility on stops than you might with other boats.

I really don't want to screw around with 50% deposits since we would be stuck with the costs if someone backed out. So basically we're asking you to commit and pay Calypso directly in full for your party.

No refunds unless you can get someone to take your spot in which case they can reimburse you directly. There are just too many people involved and I don't want anyone having to pay more because someone backed out at the last minute.

Calypso should be able to process everyone's individual payments as part of the group trip. So you won't be giving me any money. You will be giving Calypso your money directly.

If you are interested to committing to this day trip to Virgin Gorda with your fellow forumites please respond to this post.

Once I get nine people I will contact Calypso and make arrangements for each of you to call in with your CC info to pay for your portion of the trip. I suppose they also take checks.

If all folks who committed to the trip do not pay Calypso by March 20 and we can't get enough people, I will just cancel the trip and your money will be refunded.

The boat will actually hold up to 33 people but in all honesty I'd like to keep the numbers as low as we can (no more than 20) so we'll have plenty of room to move around and be comfortable.

The cost of the rental is not a flat fee so there's no savings by bringing more people along. The cost is the same per person no matter how many we bring but there has to be a minimum of 15 people to cover the $2500 (roughly) charge for the private charter.

Sorry to sound so direct but I just want to put it all out there so that there's no confusion and everyone knows what they are committing to.

Once we get commitments and payments from everyone we'll finalize the itinerary and make sure everyone's good to go.

So, first step is to let me know that you're in.

No matter what this will be a GREAT trip and I hope that you can join us!!

Hugs,

Gromit

Sounds like a great organizational effort -- Are Passports required by the charter Company? Thanks.

Wow! That sounds like fun. We don't have a trip to STJ planned but if my husband was feeling better, this would be incentive. :)

Last year my sweet hubby saw the "Bad Kitty" and tried to figure out a way we could all go on it-but it didn't work out.
He was very intrigued by that boat!

aw shucks...

Hi Gromit,

I pm'd you the other day. We'll miss this by one day, as the 24th is our arrival day. If the date shifts to the 25th, we'll be there!

Ya'll have a blast, and maybe we can meet some of you later in that week somewhere!

Bumping this topic up again... I've gotten several PM's from folks who are interested but we're still short a few people.

If you're interested please PM me or reply by March 20th!

Woohoo!
